For small businesses that have heard about the benefits of virtualization but don't want to lay out the cash just yet, Microsoft's free hypervisor, Hyper-V, may very well be "good enough" for now. But bigger shops should look at the total cost of ownership -- additional hardware cost, management software, and other costs -- before they decide to place a bet on Hyper-V over another flavor of virtualization.
